Dame Edna inspired look

I am not to crazy about the new Mac collection, which was inspired by Dame Edna....but because I am such an addict I was wondering if I could pull of some of the eyecolours.....

I tried to recreate to colors of the Royal Tour trio but I used Mac Climate Blue, Pink Mauve and Helium. I used Climate Blue as a liner also, the blush is Pretty Baby beauty powder and on my lips I have Pink Manish l/g (which was not a good choice btw)....

After this look was finished I realized that I would not buy this eye trio, do you agree??

Mac Monogram "Couture" collection release 27th november 2008

Thanks to a lovely member of Specktra I stumbled upon some pictures of the upcoming Mac collection Monogram, that will be coming out November 27th 2008 in the U.S.A.

Every year Mac releases an extra luxurious (small) collection with very special packaging and items that are more luxurious then their normal collections.....

Do you remember last years The Stylistics collection, with the very beautifull packaging with pearls and stones...that was soooo pretty!

This year the "couture" collection is all about gold, red and fire.....Here you will find some small pics, thanks to Kimoko !!

Well....the items are pretty expensive, but a real Mac addict like me, won't be held back by this.....I will be buying at least one brush, I think the # 129 because I have the #224 from The Stylistics....

I won't be getting any of the Sheerspark Sparkling Powders,I think, because I just don't use them....they are not pigmented enough for eyeshadow and too glittery to put anywhere else on my face in daily use....

And I'm not sure about the Sheer Mystery powder, although the powder is great, I don't think the colors are right for me....

What will you be buying or wanting?? ;-)

My Mac quad collection has grown a lot this last week....I was fortunate enough to stumble upon a lot of Mac quads, some of them very rare and hard to find!

So I bought 35 quads, 24 to sell to the members of my forum and 11 to keep for myself!!

Can you imagine that Mac has released 48 quads uptill now? The first was released in March 1999, it was the Pure quad....and the latest have been the Cult of Cherry quads.....

I escpecially like the Temp me & Tease me quads and the Liza & Diana quads are also very pretty!

I haven't tried them all out, but I will do so in the next days/weeks and I will post some pics....

If you would like to know the names of the eyeshadows, need swatches or close-ups...please let me know!!

Mac Amber Light eyes.....

Ok, I'm back with regular postings....but I didn't have much time today, so I'm gonna keep it to my EOTD of this day.....

Yesterday I saw a pic of Hayden Panetierre (is that right?) wearing what was supposed to be Mac Amber lights eyeshadow.....and I knew I had it somewhere so I went ahead and found it....and used it today!

I combined it with Nars galapagos eyeshadow, Mac Feline kohl power pencils and the Mac eyeshadows Bronze, Spiced Chocolate and Claire de Lune...

This is the result....:D

One other thing I'm doing these days, is putting all my make-up colors in an Excel-spreadsheet....I'm a bit shocked to see how many eyeshadows I have.....to be continue~d!!

My Mac blush collection

Some of you may know this, I am a blush addict......I love blushes sooo much, they must be my make-up product. Of course I use blush everyday, without a blush or 2 on my face, my make-up is not complete.

I've have quiet a big collection of blushes, mostly Mac but I'm also crazy about NARS blushes.....(who isn't??)

I do love the Mac beauty powders blushes the most, they are pigmented but not too much and you can build up the color perfect. I also like the Mac Mineralize blushes, but some are extremly pigmented so you have to apply them very carefully.....and I'm not very light-skinned (NC42) so I can handle many colors. But if applied in the right way, the mineralize blushes are very nice.

To apply my blushes I use the Mac 116 brush, the 187 brush and the 184 (fan) brush for extremly light application, I buff the blushes together or in my skin with the Mac 182 kabuki brush....

EOTD using Nars Night series eyeshadows

I don't know if any of you remembered last year's Nars Night Series Mini palette? The palette itself looked so great but it was soooo difficult to work with.....I try to use it a couple of times but I was never happy with the result.


Yesterday I've decided to give the palette another chance and this is the look that came out....

This is what I've used:

- paintpot Mac Nice Vice & Bare Study (outer & inner lid)
- e/s Nars Night Fever (outer corner & crease)
- e/s Nars Night Star (inner corner)
- e/s Nars Night Fairy (middle eyelid )
- e/s Mac Shroom (browbone)
- Mac Kohl power pencil Feline (tightlinen upper lashline and in the waterline)

It's always a shame that glitters and shimmer are difficult to capture in a picture....

Red she said Mineralize trio swatches

I've promised this a few weeks ago, but with the kids being home I just didn't find the time to post them!

But here they are, the swatches from the mineralized eyeshadow trio's from the upcoming Mac holiday collection, Red She said.

Although they are pretty, I'm not too impressed with their pigmentation, they are not easy to apply and remind me a lot of the mineralized eyeshadow duo's from last years Antiquitease collection.

The swatches were also very difficult to capture in a picture, but the pics you see here are true to their colors.

I will post pics of the swatches from the beauty powder blushes and the lipsticks soon!

Mac for Ungaro, release September 25th 2008

Well....I've finally had the chance to make pics of all the new collections, both products pics and swatches.....so I will post them a.s.a.p.!!

But first I wanted to let y'all know that my new website ready, this is the adress : www.lushiousbeauty.nl . I know it's in Dutch so many of you won't be able to read the text, but the pics are for everyone!!! In the future I will be posting the pics at the website first, so be sure to check the site from time to time!!

But now....on to the upcoming collection Mac for Ungaro.....this collection will be released september 25th and will be available in all Mac stores and at maccosmetics.com. I hope all the international locations will get this collection too....

It's a quite small collection and the packaging isn't that special, unfortunately.....and the colors are not really special, I think.
